SUMMARY:
Peppy and Pirat live in a lighthouse on an distant island, completely isolated from the world. They obtain food by turning off the lighthouse lamp at night when a cargo ship comes along. One day Roseana arrives at the island in the company of a mute young man, wanting to consummate her affair with Pirat, which never really ended...

The play was premiered at the &TD Theatre, directed by Petar Vujačić. It was selected for publication in the collection Young Croatian Drama.

 

DISAPPEARED

SUMMARY:
Mia and her railwayman father live in an abandoned railway station. Her husband Nik had disappeared five years earlier and she has been waiting for his return since then. The routine is interrupted by the arrival of David whose car has been stolen not far from the station. David is a former magician who could perform "real miracles". Objects he had on stage - but also his assistants - had disappeared, never to return.

The play has been published in Plima magazine and is prepared for radio broadcasting.

 

BIOGRAPHY:

Snježana Babić-Višnjić (1969) graduated in 1995 from the Zagreb Faculty of Philosophy in Croatian Language and Southern Slavic Philology. So far, she has written six plays: The Story Continues, Sofia, The Disappeared Wishing Stone, Crooks and Dora Maar. She also writes poetry and prose. Her stories have been published in Plima, read on the 3rd Programme of Croatian Radio, and some are waiting publication by various publishers. Snježana also writes literary criticism and theory works, and earns her living as a editor, language editor and journalist.
